Location

Gila Hot Springs Campground is located about 40 miles north of Silver City, New Mexico and four miles south of the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.  If you are using your GPS, the Gila Cliff Dwellings should be a usable POI for directions – but we are about four miles before the Dwellings. From Silver City: Take State HWY 15 north from Silver City. Although it is only 39 miles from Silver City, the travel time is approximately 90 minutes because of the twisting and winding roads through mountain terrain. Another option from Silver City is along NM HWY 35 which goes through the Mimbres Valley. Even though this route is a bit longer, it will not have the same winding roads as HWY 15, something to consider if you have a trailer or RV.
The turnoff to the campground is about 38.9 miles, from Silver City. You will be making a right-hand turn, off Highway 15, onto Access Road just before mile marker 39. There is a business sign, at the junction of Access Road/ Hwy 15 directing you toward the campground. Follow Access Road, two tenths ( .2 ) of a mile to West Fork Road. Turn left, on West Fork Road and travel 200 yards to the entrance of the campground.
